I am incredibly excited about Chick Chat! It’s the life group I host at the church office the 1st Wednesday of every month. An amazing group of ladies gather together to really be impacted by all we learn. This time will be no different. Read the first two chapters and come join us!

We are going to be reading a book together called Boundaries, by Dr. Henry Cloud and it promises to be life-changing for all of us. Here is a brief snippet of what you will discover.

Having clear boundaries is essential to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible. In other words, boundaries define who we are and who we are not. Boundaries impact all areas of our lives: Physical boundaries help us determine who may touch us and under what circumstances — Mental boundaries give us the freedom to have our own thoughts and opinions — Emotional boundaries help us to deal with our own emotions and disengage from the harmful, manipulative emotions of others — Spiritual boundaries help us to distinguish God’s will from our own and give us renewed awe for our Creator — Often, Christians focus so much on being loving and unselfish that they forget their own limits and limitations. When confronted with their lack of boundaries, they ask: – Can I set limits and still be a loving person? – What are legitimate boundaries? – What if someone is upset or hurt by my boundaries? – How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy, or money? – Aren’t boundaries selfish? – Why do I feel guilty or afraid when I consider setting boundaries? Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend offer biblically-based answers to these and other tough questions, showing us how to set healthy boundaries with our parents, spouses, children, friends, co-workers, and even ourselves.

Join me and a host of other women at the church office (2732 Salome Church Rd, Charlotte) starting this Wednesday, February 2nd, at 10 am. If you would like to sign up or if you have questions concerning childcare or any other matter, please email my assistant, Betty Greco, at and she will get back with you promptly.

See you there!

***The book is very popular and has been reprinted many times, so you may have a different cover, its ok.

  1. I really appreciate your blogs and unfortunately, I am unable to attend the “Chick Chat” life group. (I am very nervous about asking my upcoming question after hearing Pastor Troys message today; he mentioned that people come to him all the time with ideas that he then turns back around on the person with the idea, but . . .) is there any vision for a FHC Women’s Retreat/Conference? I would love to have the opportunity to spend time with our female Leadership to learn and continue to grow, but because of my 9-5, there is not much flexibility for this particular life group. I am very open to any of your thoughts!!

  2. I would encourage you to find one of the many other women’s groups because they plan different events and such. Some do take trips but with the size of our church, taking trips has to happen through small groups. It would be very difficult to organize one trip for hundreds and hundreds of women. Small groups make it that “small church feel” that PT talked about today. We are a small church with LOTS of people. 🙂

So check out one of the other women’s groups that meet at other times. I am sure there is one that will fit you! Some amazing ladies lead them!

We did have a big conference with Lisa Bevere but we need to move into our new building this year before we do any more conferences due to space! 🙂
