The Latest Thurman News

Thurman was finally able to have his heart catheterization done today. The doctors had to put it off for several days due to a fever. The tests showed that there were no blockages at all. The problem seems to have stemmed from a misfiring of his heart from an electromagnetic perspective. I believe that is the right lingo. In other words the electric currents of his heart misfired and stopped his heart completely. This is what they had suspected was the cause of his heart attack..

What next? Well the doctors are going to install an defibrillator and a pacemaker contraption inside of his heart. The pace maker will make sure that his heart keeps rhythm and the defibrillator will make sure that if for some reason it stopped; it would immediately shock it back into beating.

The hospital that he is currently at, Rowan Regional, will not be able to do this procedure so he will be transferred to Presbyterian Main. He is still in ICU at Rowan but they hope to have him in a regular room by tomorrow.

How can you help? You can pray for Thurman’s complete recovery and for Debbie to remain strong and unwavering through this process. You can also pray for the extended family as well. It has been tough on everyone. I am sure once they are home that meals would be so wonderful for them. Right now though, prayers are what they are mostly looking for.

Let me know if you have any more questions and I will try to answer them!

Debbie and Thurman thank you for your continued support of them. They could not have faced this without you being there for them!

  1. He’s in great hands at Presby! (Well, he’s already in Great Hands…)

  2. When do you think this will take place and is this a regularly performed procedure?

  3. He will stay at Rowan through the weekend and the procedure at Presby will take place early next week. He should be out of ICU tomorrow and he is looking for lots of visitors! People coming to see him is helping him to heal. He loves people!

This procedure is regularly performed. I am not sure why they are moving him there to do it. It is called a “shock box” in the doctors lingo.

  4. My prayers are with you Thurman for complete healing. We miss you on Sunday! Usher Mike
