What’s Love Got To Do With It?

What does love look like to you? I hear people talk about love sometimes and they describe it as ooshy, gooshy feelings. Sometimes love does feel like that but sometimes it doesn’t. What do I mean?

I started to think of some things that God has done in the Bible and wondered how love could do something that at times might seem cruel but in reality was actually love. Here is what I mean. Love brought down water over the heads of an Egyptian army. Yep, when the whole Egyptian army that was after Moses and the Israelites were wiped out, it was because of love. It seems hard to say that but really it was. God knew that the seed of our Savior was going to come down through the Israelites and if they were destroyed the Savior of humanity could not come. He knew that we needed a Savior and His plan was for our redemption. He was thinking about you and me the whole time.

So love can take on forms that we do not understand sometimes without looking at the whole picture. God loves us so much and wishes that none would perish but love sometimes comes in forms we just don’t get. Ask my kids, they are being loved dearly when they are disciplined even though sometimes it doesn’t feel all ooshy, gooshy.

God is love and love has everything to do with it-period.

  1. To me Love is Unconditional. It’s that unexpected something that is said to you or done for you which makes you say, “WOW!”
That is Love. Just like Jesus who died for our past, present, and future sins…WOW!!
